ALL SAINTS, SURREY SQUARE, SOUTHWARK

These maps show some of the differences in the parish of All Saints, Surrey Square, which stretched from Madron Street in the East, to Thurlow Street in the West and from East Street in the North to Albany Road in the South.

The top map is an 1898 Parish "Poverty Map".

Here both Surrey Square and Aldridge Street run right upto Alvey Street.

The lower map is a modern Aerial photograph.

It shows the south side of Surrey Square and both sides of Aldridge Street missing from where the church was all the way to Alvey Street.

The church has also gone, to be replaced by the modern "All Saints Hall".

Many of the surrounding streets have also been redeveloped, and replaced by modern flat roof buildings.
