Christchurch Cotmanhay closed on 1st December, 1986 due to subsidence.

Some of the contents were found homes elsewhere:

Organ - Long Eaton baptist church

Brass eagle lectern - Longford parish church.

Altar, triptych, reredos, linen fold panels, choir stalls, West windows and vestry panelling - Whitworth parish church, nr. Manchester.

Lady chapel tester - Cantley parish church, nr. Doncaster.

Organ casings/lady chapel screen - Harston group of parishes, Leic.

The pews were sold to a dealer.

The East Window -"The Good Shepherd". Installed 1867, designed & made by C.E. Clutterbuck (1806-1861).
